Swimming with a Disability or Illness

Here at the Water School we try to be as inclusive as possible and make swimming a joyful experience for everyone in our community. Whether you are able-bodied or not, a good swimmer or a non-swimmer, being in the water will do you good. Swimming and water exercise will improve your cardio-vascular system, keep your joints supple, help you lose weight and boost your mental well-being regardless of your age or health. Over the last 10 years we have helped people with various problems; all sorts of physical disabilities, amputees, people recovering from strokes, major surgery, and heart attacks, people with learning disabilities, diabetes, obesity, epilepsy and various degenerative diseases like M.S. and Arthritis. So perhaps we can help you too! If you would like to learn to swim – We can help! Or perhaps you would like to re-learn (For example after a stroke) – We can help! If you have no interest in swimming but would like to improve your health through exercise or therapy in the pool – We can help! The Water School pool is designed to be warm and welcoming and easy to access down non-slip steps. The water is pure and chemical free and varies in depth from shallow to water deep enough to dive into! Our staff are friendly and well-informed and we have a range of health and safety equipment including a defibrillator and medical oxygen. We also have a large range of equipment that can help people with various disabilities to swim and float comfortably in the water. Why not give us a call on 086-8109071 and see what we can do for you.
