Sharing our passion for water with the world.
Thanks so much to Clive Seawright, founder of the Water School. He wanted to help people find the same joy in swimming that he always had, and to help save lives by teaching basic Water Safety to as many people as possible. So far more than 17,000 people have learnt to swim at the Water School.
We will continue his marvelous work; so that everyone can enjoy the water safely.
If you would like to put a child on the waiting list for future children’s classes please email us at info@thewaterschool.ie and let us know the child’s full name, date of birth, current swimming ability level and any health issues. Then we can add their details to the list. If you can also add your phone number we’ll have all we need to contact you when the right place becomes available.
If you would like to go on the waiting list for adult classes please follow the instructions for children’s classes above (except for the date of birth, which isn’t necessary!)
We normally book our customers for alternate courses of classes (2 months on, 2 months off). There is an option to attend every swimming course if you need to. This is to allow us to offer the chance to learn to swim to as many people as possible. Ask at the desk for more details.
Sharing our passion for the water with the world
Our philosophy is a simple one – water is fun and safety is paramount. Living on an island as we do makes it incredibly important for us and our children to understand both the fun that can be had in water and the dangers it can pose. Our school is dedicated to aiding swimmers of all ages and abilities to be confident and safe around water.
Our pool provides swimming lessons in Pearson’s Bridge, West Cork and has a shallow end and a deep end, so that we can teach everyone from small children to divers. It also contains virtually no chlorine, which makes it suitable for people suffering from asthma, psoriasis or any of the other conditions aggravated by chlorine.
We offer swimming classes for all abilities for both children and adults, catering for groups such as the G.A.A., Special Needs Groups, and local schools. We are not open to the general public for leisure swimming.
We also provide;
Water safety courses,
Swimming teacher training courses,
Lifeguard courses.
Parent and toddler group.
Aqua-aerobic classes (Aquafit).
Water Therapy (Aquastretch).
Small-group and one-to-one training.
We also host scuba diving training,
We teach kayak/canoe safety,
Sea survival training with BIM, and hope to expand our open water instruction very soon.
