CUSTOMERS AT THE WATER SCHOOL (COVID-19)

We will have to make some changes to the way we run things here at the Water School in order to safeguard everyone during the Covid-19 pandemic. We also want to maintain the highest possible teaching standards and ensure that every customer has a good experience every time they come here. Classes (particularly children’s classes) will have much smaller numbers so that we can maintain social distancing. This means we will not be able to teach as many people as normal and you may be on the waiting list for longer than you would like. Please be patient- we will get to everyone eventually!

When you are coming to a class here there are certain things you can do to help us ensure everyone’s safety:

  • DO NOT COME TO THE POOL IF YOU OR ANYONE IN YOUR HOUSEHOLD HAS COVID-19 SYMPTOMS

  • (Fever • Coughing • Sore throat • Shortness of breath • Loss of taste or smell • Temperature above 37.5ºC • Fatigue • Unusual muscle aches and pains • Diarrhoea)

  • Shower before you come to the pool.

  • Come wearing your swimming togs if possible.

  • Enter the building one family group at a time. Please queue outside the building observing social distancing or wait in your car until called by the receptionist.

  • Sanitize your hands as soon as you come into the building.

  • Do not bring younger children into the building if possible.

  • If your child uses armbands please bring them with you if possible. We will not be lending out armbands or goggles, but we do have them for sale.

  • Our changing rooms now have alcoves/cubicles. If you are bringing more than one child please use just one cubicle where possible.

  • Please wait in the cubicle until the class is ready to start.

  • Please put all your belongings (including shoes) on the bench or hang them up. Leave nothing on the floor.

  • As soon as you come through the shower and onto the pool deck please sanitise your hands again (and if you go to the toilet or to the changing room for any reason during the class, don’t forget to wash your hands before coming back into the pool.)

  • Please try to observe social distancing in the water (but be assured that the water itself is continually sterilised and will not harbour the virus).

  • If you use any equipment in the pool (floats, woggles, etc) please make sure you use the same item throughout the class- it will be sterilised afterwards.

  • At the end of the class please allow for social distancing when using the ladder and steps. Sanitise your hands again before going into the changing room.

  • If possible, bundle your child (or yourself) up in towels/dressing gown and spend as little time as you can in the changing room. If you need to get fully dressed bring loose fitting clothes that are quick and easy to put on and slip-on shoes.

  • If you would like to talk to an instructor after the class, tell the desk attendant and they will arrange for that instructor to phone you later.

  • Lastly, don’t forget to sanitise your hands on the way out!

Phew! What a long list! Thank you for your help. Together we will all get through this.

COVID-19 Update.

As we all know The Water School has had to close again due to the Covid-19 pandemic along with the rest of the country. Unfortunately we cannot know when we can reopen until we receive advice from the Government and the HSA. We are monitoring the situation daily and hope to reopen at the beginning of December.

Until then we wish our customers all the best and are looking forward to seeing everyone again when we reopen!
